Google My Business
Aug 18, 2022Today, I want to talk about Google My Business. On google when you search a company’s name, the business’s profile will come up on the right side of the page. Listed there is usually the website, office hours, reviews, etc. For example, when looking for a restaurant on google, it brings you to this and you then click on the website to take you to the menu. That is what we want to create for your real estate business, even if you're a solo Realtor. You want to do this because people are referring you out to their friends, family or coworkers. What people will do first is they will go to google and put in your name and see what comes up. They might see stuff pop up like Zillow reviews, any blogs you have ever posted or youtube videos you may have made. The point is to have something professional to show whether that be your website, office hours, number and reviews.
So, what I want you to do is go ahead and search ‘google my business’. You can actually YouTube how to create an account. What will happen is they will want to authenticate your account. So you will create a profile, then they will usually send you a password in the mail to your address. Once you receive it, you will then be able to put in your password. This is how they make sure people set up legitimate businesses. Once you have that you want to start adding some other items to your profile such as photos and most importantly past client reviews!
We send a text and an email to our clients saying:
“Hi <Client Name>, would you please write a review for me? I am trying to get more reviews on my google business page and this would help me out tremendously!” Give them a link along with that message. You want to make it as simple and convenient as possible in order to increase your chances of them writing one.”
This simple process alone can change your ranking on Google and allow more buyers and sellers to easily find you!
